Practical planning guide

Build a mitzvah budget you can actually follow

Start with a total range, but manage the event category by category. A budget becomes useful only when planned amounts, actual costs, deposits, balances, and due dates stay together.

Choose categories that match your celebration

Common practical categories include venue, catering, photography or video, music, attire, stationery, decor, transportation, hospitality, and contingency. Your event may need fewer or different categories.

Separate planned from actual

Record the amount you intend to spend before booking. When a quote is accepted, add the actual contract amount without erasing the original plan. That difference tells you where to adjust.

Track cash timing

A total may look manageable while several deposits land in the same month. Record every due date and remaining balance, and verify directly with the vendor before sending money.

Keep a contingency

Leave room for final guest-count changes, accessibility needs, transportation, tips, and overlooked details. Simchora organizes this information but does not provide financial advice.
